Patch 1.1
A new Evening look, eight new Powers for every god, more than 160 new cards with living scenes, and Evermyth in more languages.
Evening
- Evening joins Day and Night: a dusk sky, lapis cards and gold buttons, with the island and every face in full color.
- Pick Day, Evening or Night the first time you open the game, and switch any time in Settings › Appearance.
New Powers for every god
- Eight new Powers open to every god, whatever your domain: Hold back the dawn, Weep for the dead, Wrap in mist, Forbid one thing, Swear to grant a wish, Make amends, Woo a rival's city and Make a mortal immortal.
- Wrap a mortal who fights or quests for you in mist, and it carries them out of a death in battle, a duel or a quest.
- Forbid one thing works better the more you are feared. Woo a rival's city opens at 25 faithful, Make a mortal immortal at 1,000.
New cards
- More than 160 new cards, each with its own living scene: stories for every domain, wonders and wanderings, cards for every age of myth, and late-game stories for long-lived gods.
- Six new calamities for Renowned and Legend gods, from the dancing sickness to the serpent round the island, and four new sea-beast stories.
- Each age of myth's cards now turn up far more often, so you meet most of them before the age passes.
Languages and devices
- Evermyth now plays in German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, French and Korean. It follows your device's language, or pick one for Evermyth alone in your device's Settings.
- Evermyth now runs on iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma.
Game Guide
- A new Game Guide in Settings › Help (on a Mac, Help › Evermyth Guide): 23 short articles under five headings on how the game works, with search, in every language the game speaks.
A fresh coat of paint
- Over 150 scenes repainted: towns of real tiled houses, temples with fluted columns, clearer faces and figures.
- Two dozen Power icons redrawn so they read at a glance, and smoke now curls in wisps.
- One type scale on every screen, answers on cards stand out by day and night, and no text is ever cut off.
- The tabs now run Realm, Names, Home, Powers, Temple, the order all our games share.
Your myth reads better
- A card that comes back reads another way until you have seen every telling.
- Each outcome shows one net change to Power, Prosperity and Renown.
- The year's turn tells only what matters: the deaths of those close to you, your first children and heirs. The rest go quietly into the Mythos.
- Great deeds go into the Mythos as deeds: Sent the bees, Knit the bone.
- Thousands of lines polished: clearer tellings, fewer repeats, no modern words.
Balance
- Cards written for your domain, aspects and trials come before ordinary days, and answered prayers count toward Devotion.
- A careful god can still lose the seat contest or a war.
- A monster you shelter, charm or tame stops raiding, and one that has fed often feeds less.
- Heroes come for your beast less often, and wait longer after each one falls.
- A work you raise won't fail in its first fifteen years, and each failure has its own mending.
- Goals never pay twice for one deed. A year holds at most five cards; the rest wait for the next.
Fixes
- Report a bug from Settings › Help (on a Mac, Help › Report a Bug…). Reports and their fixes are listed at playeverlife.com/bugs.
- Cards taller than the screen now scroll, so answers and Continue are never cut off.
- The keyboard no longer closes while you type your god's name.
- The Treasury scrolls smoothly.
- Price tiles say "Free" correctly in Italian and Japanese.
- A sea beast stays at sea: no more kraken in the marriage bed.
- Fixed tellings where a pronoun pointed at the wrong person.
